The second appeal process begins on Friday, March 8, for Lee Elder Finnegan and Gabriele Natale Hjorth. The two American citizens are accused of the murder of the deputy brigadier of the Carabinieri, Mario Cerciello Rega, which occurred in Rome in July 2019.
The Court of Cassation had ordered a new sentence for the two second degree trial. The trial will take place before the Assize Court of Appeal "We hope, therefore, that we can finally arrive at a sentence that correctly photographs what happened"
