Several "thousands of jellyfish" have been seen on beaches on the Atlantic coast, since the weekend of Pentecost. In Charente-Maritime mainly, but also in Vendée and to a lesser extent in Gironde.

The beaches of Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron saw an 83% increase between May 23 and May 30. "I've been here for 20 years and I've never seen so many jellyfish," a resident of Châtelaillon-Plage told BFMTV.
