In 2023, Brasilia sent 679 thousand tons of chicken to Beijing, guaranteeing revenues of 1.9 billion dollars. The Brazilian government expressed its satisfaction with the annulment of the provision which had "damaged the competitiveness of Brazilian products on the Chinese market", according to a note from the government. The measure was envisaged to protect the industry of the importing country or in the event of the existence of unfair commercial practices.
