Italian champion Elisa Longo Borghini wins the women's race of the Tour of Flanders. The 32-year-old Piedmontese from Verbania had already won Flanders nine years ago, in 2015.

She preceded her two breakaway companions in the sprint, the Polish Katarzyna Niewiadoma, second to her and the Dutch Shirin van Anrooi, her teammate in the Lidl Trek and third today. The Italian champion won Olympic bronze in Rio and Tokyo.
