Diana Iljine, who has directed the festival since 2011, will step down on October 1, 2023. This means that the 40th edition of the popular summer festival will be the last with Ilyine at the helm.
The 58-year-old has developed the event into a real public festival and, starting in 2013, established a series of high-quality TV series. Christoph Gröner, long-time artistic director, will probably take over the management of the Munich International Film Weeks.
