The European Union wants to launch a special directive this year. This would result in changes to the car driving licence and the driving licence test for novice drivers.
The driver's license is to become digital. The driving test could be taken at least partially in simulators in the future. New drivers would have to complete a so-called refresher course after one year. The EU Commission also provides for a change for senior citizens.
