Egyptian sources, security strengthened at Rafah crossing. Almost two million Palestinians are crowded together, pushed south by Israeli bombings, which have now reached just across the border.
The sources added that around 40 police and security vehicles moved from Al-Arish to Rafah to secure the border, raise the fence separating it from Gaza and reinforce it with barbed wire. An official source in the North Sinai governorate, however, pointed out that the strengthening of security at the border has been continuous since October 7.
