In 2023, 21,500 rented households were evicted from their homes, the Ministry of Housing indicated. This is an increase of 23% compared to 2022, when 17,500 rental evictions took place.
“Our priority is to prevent unpaid rent, while ensuring the rigorous application of legal decisions,” indicates the entourage of Housing Minister Guillaume Kasbarian. According to the Abbé Pierre Foundation which sounded the alarm, some 140,000 people are affected this year.
