The planned ban on oil and gas heating from 2024 is off the table with the new coalition decision. An expert explains why heat pumps are still the future.
"We have slept for 20 years, there is no alternative to heat pumps," says Dr. Marek Miara, an expert in renewable energies at the Fraunhofer Institute ISE in Freiburg. The most popular heat pumps were suitable for completely renovated existing buildings, says Miara.Studies have shown that it hardly matters how old a house is, in most cases, the place will be warm.
