Checks will be staggered according to the date of first entry into circulation of the two-wheeler. Control of noise and vehicle obstruction, often bypassed by scooters, will not be effective until summer 2025. “It will clean up fleet and remove problematic subjects,” estimates Sébastien Danvel, from the Autoécurité group. ‘Nearly half of the centers, or 3,000 controllers, are ready,’ says Alexandra Herbel, president of the technical inspection branch of the National Council of Automotive Professions. The first technical inspection must be carried out between April 15 and August 14, 2024 for older vehicles. For older vehicles, the first check is between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2024. The cost of the inspection should range between 50 and 80 euros.
