China, in recent months, announced a mega investment of almost 600 billion dollars in favor of the pharmaceutical industry. In Europe, meanwhile, in the next few days a proposal to reform pharmaceutical legislation which aims to shorten patent coverage will be discussed in the EU Parliament. “The recipe we have chosen for our country is that of growth. In the last year we have done better than Germany, France and Spain, but we have a lack of structural growth and competitiveness," says Maurizio Casasco, MP, national manager of the Economy department of Forza Italia. The driving force behind everything is innovation, but are we ready as a country?”, asks Trabucco Aurilio. ‘Partly yes. The Government has shown sensitivity to the issue, but there still remains to be done."
