The ratification of the ESM reform will be part of the discussion on the Banking Union at the next Eurogroup. It is expected "that the Italian Minister of Finance will clarify what the government's plans are" This was stated by a senior European official ahead of the meeting scheduled for Monday 15 May.
"Ratification is the prerogative of national parliaments and we must respect this process," the official stressed, adding however that "the political agreement" reached between government representatives "will be honoured"
