Eurostat, Italy last in the EU for employment rate. Despite workers having reached record levels in 2023, the employment rate between 20 and 64 years old stood at 66.3%, almost 10 points away from the EU average (75.4%).

In our country only 56.5% of women work between the ages of 20 to 64 compared to the 70.2% on average in the European Union. The male employment rate is 76% (80.5%) and the gap with women is 19.5 points, almost double the EUAverage (10.3%).
