Andreas Brehme died in Munich, aged just 63, from cardiac arrest. With Inter, led by Giovanni Trapattoni, in the 1988-89 season he won the "record scudetto" and a UEFA Cup.

He was ambidextrous, which was rare in those years old, and could play both on the right and on the left. At Italia '90 he is considered a hero, consecrated precisely at that spot where his legend was born.
