The Federal Network Agency is trying to protect people in Germany from telephone fraud. Scammers try to get data or money from unsuspecting people by phone call or text message – some numbers don't call you.

According to investigations, the numbers that are displayed will be switched off as quickly as possible in order to prevent further fraud. Even Interpol has been warned of a scam by the Federal Agency. The agency can only take action against telephone numbers communicated to them. However, if fraudsters call without a displayed phone number, the origin of the call cannot be clarified.
