His works, including most recently the theater monologue “Rain,” have been adapted several times and have sold millions of copies internationally. The New York Times called him an “extraordinary stylist” and the Independent compared him to Kafka and Kleist. The Financial Times also made a comparison with Raymond Carver, and the Daily Telegraph wrote that he was “one of the most outstanding voices on the European literary scene”
