The orchid Dendrobium nobile and its relatives must have rest periods, otherwise they will not bloom. If you fertilize too much, the roots can burn from the high amounts of salt - these can be recognized as whitish crystals on the substrate and roots. Repotting is recommended every two to three years - this applies to all types of orchid.
