Rambam Hospital received approval from the Ministry of Health for the use of the groundbreaking technology. The results will be used to determine the treatment of patients and also to identify findings that will serve as the basis for new studies.

The technology is called "optical genetic mapping" (OGM) and its results are more detailed than those obtained in other genetic tests such as the "genetic chip" The new technology quickly and accurately identifies changes and disruptions in chromosomes that affect the development of various types of cancer.
