The Princess of Wales will not be present this Sunday, March 17, for the traditional Mons Barracks St. Patrick's Day parade in Aldershot, England.
Usually, Kate Middleton plays a most important role on this day since it is her job to inspect the ranks during the ceremony and deliver shamrocks to the officers and guards. Lady Ghika, wife of regimental lieutenant colonel Sir Chistopher Ghika is expected to replace her this year. Prince William, honorary colonel of the Irish Guards between 2011 and 2022, will not attend either. The reason for his absence remains unknown.
