Michael Tsokos is a German forensic doctor and author. He is best-selling author of 26 books, all of which are SPIEGEL bestsellers.

Until the end of 2023, he headed the Charité Institute for Forensic Medicine in Berlin. He voluntarily gave up the latter role on December 31, 2023. He cites the stress as one of the reasons: “I’m still a forensic doctor. I only handed over an institute. I am still director of the state institute in Berlin [and] continue to work in the section room. When you've managed two huge institutes in a dual capacity for almost 20 years, at some point you've had enough. Otherwise I'll end up on my table again at somepoint." He is married with five children. He works with Florian Schwiecker on the Eberhardt & Jber Eberber series, the following books have been published: “The Man in the Man’s Clothing”, “Do dead people always swim at the top?’, 2019 Droemer Knaur and “Heinz Labensky and his his family”.
