Former Austrian Chancellor Kurz convicted of perjury. Kurz did not tell the truth before the commission of inquiry into the 'Ibiza' scandal of the former FPÖ leader Heinz Christian Strache.
The trial is based primarily on the chats of Thomas Schmid, former CEO of the state holding Oebag and former trusted man of Kurz who is now collaborating with the investigators. The former chancellor and former leader of the Austrian People's Party was sentenced to eight months' probation.
