This particularly applies to items whose price is not clearly indicated via a barcode - especially loose goods, especially fruit and vegetables. On one day there could be a lot of confusion about prices - and all of this without any human error. Complaints about incorrect prices on receipts are sometimes not so easy, as we learn from the consumer advice center: “The purchase takes place at the checkout - and that is where (from a legal point of view) the price is first agreed upon”
