France, Senate gives green light to abortion in the Constitution - Europe. A historic and not obvious decision, given the majority of centrists and right-wing senators.
The green light is without any changes to the text approved by the Assemblée Nationale. There will therefore be no new examination before the Houses of Congress meet next week. "I am committed to making women's freedom to resort to voluntary termination of pregnancy (IVG) irreversible," says French president, Emmanuel Macron.
