The Ministry of Defense has cleared and handed over to the Municipality of Tel Aviv an area from the Kariya camp. The vacated area will be used to widen the sidewalk on Begin Road, to establish bicycle paths and to regulate access to the Shaul HaMelech light rail station.
Last week, after 8 years, Begin Road was reopened along its entire length for southbound traffic, including for public transportation and private vehicles. This, as mentioned, after eight years of work establishing the red line of the light rail and upgrading the public space.
