Google Maps is discontinuing its functionality – this is particularly bitter for drivers. “We are removing some underused features in Google Assistant to focus on providing the best possible user experience,” Google said in explaining the move.

Google already switched off Android Auto for phones, and a little later the Assistant Driving Dashboard was also removed. As long as driving mode is available, it can be activated in Google Maps by clicking on the four square button in the bottom right corner. The features like voice control, playing audio content and making calls while driving will now be a thing of the past.
