Barely 2,000 foreign workers have arrived since October 7, while the government has committed to tens of thousands of workers in just a few months. The number of corporations designed to take care of the employment of foreign workers in the construction industry and their welfare, including living conditions, has doubled from 49 such corporations on the eve of the outbreak of the war.

In the most optimistic scenario, it will take at least a year to solve the workers' plight, says Yigal Slovik, CEO of the Boni Ha'aretz Contractors Association.
