High equinox tides: the coastline is preparing for a spectacular rise in water levels. The height of the ocean will be at its maximum level on Sunday and for three days.

“During high tide and westerly winds, we experience the push of the sea towards the coast, which creates a funnel phenomenon at the level of the Seudre, 18 km upstream,” explains the president of the oyster farmers of Marennes-Oléron.“Already in October and February, I had 20 cm of water in my buildings and, in neighboring ports, some had up to one meter.”
