All the hostages held captive by a person who had attacked a cafe in the city of Ede, in the Netherlands, were freed. The perpetrator of the kidnapping, who was arrested, had threatened to have explosive devices, threatening to blow himself up.
Three of the hostages were freed shortly after the assault, as was a fourth and final person. The bar in Ede where the hostage taking took place is called Petticoat. It is a bar very popular with young people, where last night an event was held with Dutch and techno music.
