Civil Bereavement Awareness Day asks the state to provide assistance to families who have lost loved ones prematurely. Only three types will receive help from the state: death as a result of homicide offenses, death in road accidents and suicide.

The rest of the civil bereavement families are not entitled to any assistance or recognition. This special day of awareness is the result of the cooperation of the "Yakir Li - Yad VeLev for Civil Bereavement" association and former Minister MK Hili Tropper.
