Shetty Frieda will soon be the oldest pony in the world. The average life expectancy of Shetland ponies is around 25 years; very few reach the age of 40.

Shetty Frieda is 98 centimeters high and “only” 55 years old. Her owner, Petra Kruse, took Frieda in four years ago after a man saved her from a butcher in Bavaria. “She’s been in really good shape since then. A few days ago she actually galloped past me,” says Kruse.
