Ikea has tested the "Buy with your time" concept in a store in Dubai. Customers had to show Google Maps with the route they took to visit Ikea.

Depending on how long the journey was, the customers received a corresponding credit, which was offset against the purchase price. The new payment method could trigger a fundamental change in how products are bought and how the shopping experience changes in the future. It remains to be seen whether the German branches will soon give it a try or even introduce this method.
