In Barcelona, eagles and falcons mobilized to hunt pigeons. Faced with an estimated 85,000 pigeons in the streets of the Catalan city, the town hall is trying a new device: using falcons and eagles.

If the project proves successful, it could be extended to other districts of the city. Most Spanish airports already use falcons to prevent collisions with birds. Work is also being carried out to reduce the fertility of pigeons and their proliferation through treatment with nicarbazin.
