Six directors from Spain and Latin America present their films at the Berlinale. They include the directors of six Spanish-produced films: Macu Machín, Anna Cornudella, Lucía G.

Romero, Klaudia Reynicke, Ingrid Pokropek and Antonella Sudasassi Furniss. In recent years, names such as Carla Simón, Pilar Palomero, Alauda Ruiz de Azúa and Estibaliz Urresola have emerged from the festival.
