Spending on institutional services amounted to 317 billion. There were 17.8 million pensions and 3.6 million disability benefits in 2022. There are 26 million insured workers while there are 1.8million insured businesses. The INPS underlines that during the year, in the face of 1,434 retirements, 4,791 people were hired, bringing the total staff to 26,712 employees.
