Snow in the garden can be a blessing and a curse for many plants. While the cool white can paradoxically even have a warming effect, it can also damage plants.

So should you remove it or can you safely leave the snow there? Not all snow is the same. Snow protects the soil and especially the roots, tubers and seeds. If there is no snow, the temperatures in the ground drop due to the cold air and frost. Snow also protects against wind and acts as a natural sunscreen.
