Istat, Italy lags behind in adult continuing education. In 2022, just over a third of individuals aged 25 to 64 participated in education and training activities.
There are 31.0% of 18-24 year olds who do not participate in any education or training course, compared to 20.2% of the European average. The European Council's objectives for 2025 which, for 25-64 year olds, set a minimum participation rate of 47% are far away, says Istat.
