Paolo Taviani died in Rome this Wednesday February 29, 2024 at the age of 92. He had directed, with his brother Vittorio who died in 2018, multiple films promoted around the world.

The two brothers were notably known for Under the Sign of the Scorpion, The Meadow, The Night of San Lorenzo or Caesar Must Die. The Taviani brothers, of whom Paolo was the eldest, continued to oscillate between cinematographic genres, from documentary to literary adaptation, including war drama.
