Juan Ramón Castellanos, mayor of Perugorría, Corrientes, was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison. He destroyed the home of a resident of the La Tablita neighborhood with a bulldozer in December 2021.
The mayor's argument was that the house was built on the layout of a street that should be opened to become one of the entrances to a social housing neighborhood. The man filed a complaint against the mayor for usurpation and abuse of authority.
