Slugs and snails can be combated with many home remedies. But it is even more effective to plant the right plants.
According to the Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR), snails do not like the following varieties: rosemary, thyme, houseleek and ferns. Grasses or fat hens are also not on the snails' menu. If you grow the latter, it is advisable to use a raised bed, because it makes it difficult for the animals to access it.
