Calls for restraint after clashes between local Serbs and police. Mayors all of Albanian ethnicity elected in the elections of 23 April that had been largely boycotted by the Serbs in protest against the policy of Pristina.
The toll was numerous wounded, at least a dozen, on both sides, some police cars damaged and set on fire. There is a strong fear in the international community that, with the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict always fiery, a new serious military crisis could explode in the Balkans.
