The Great Tropical House in the Berlin-Dahlem Botanical Garden is undoubtedly one of the most impressive in Germany. The Palmengarten in Frankfurt am Main is home to around 13,000 plant species on 19 hectares.

The Bad Pyrmont spa park in Lower Saxony has received many awards and is very well known for its palm-free area. Since palm trees can survive sub-zero temperatures in winter, they are usually removed from the garden. The most valuable palm is probably around 300 years old and, alongside many subtropical plants, can grow up to eleven meters high.
