The fire in Los Alerces National Park continues to devastate one of the greatest natural beauties of Argentina. The mayor of the protected area assured that the time at which the fire started is a determining factor in suggesting that "it was lit on purpose" The flames consumed the forest throughout the night and the protocols can only be activated during the day.
The fire has already consumed some 2,474 hectares and is still active on all fronts, with a complex fight due to the irregular topography of the terrain.
