Russian oil giant Lukoil has announced the death of its vice president Vitaly Robertus. In a statement, the company claims that Robertus died "suddenly" at the age of 54.

Robertus had been at Lukoil for more than 30 years and is the latest in a series of senior oil and gas executives to die in sudden circumstances. Lukoil's former top executive, Alexander Subbotin, was found dead in May 2022 while in September of the same year state media reported that President Ravil Maganov had died after falling from a hospital window.
