A magnitude 5.5 earthquake was recorded at 3:06 local time (4:06 in Italy) in northwestern Montenegro, not far from the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The earthquake had a hypocenter approximately 10 kilometers deep and an epicenter 21 km from the city of Plužine.

The Montenegrin public broadcaster RTCG states that the earthquake was felt throughout the country but that at the moment there is no news of any particular damage to people or things.
