Rosalie is Stéphanie Di Giusto's second film. Inspired by the life of Clémentine Delait, the bearded woman from the Vosges, famous at the beginning of the 20th century.
The film holds up a mirror to the way we look at others. The monster is still and always the one who does not know how to love. Love beyond semblance is the center of this conversation between the filmmaker and her actress. It is a film in costume, but which can be seen as a reflection on our time. I wanted to confront her with love with sincerity and humility.
