New category at the Oscars from 2026, an award for casting - Cinema. Academy of Motion Picture has announced the creation of an Oscar for casting.
Category rules for eligibility and voting for the inaugural award will be announced in April 2025 with the full 98th Academy Awards rules. The Casting Directors Branch was created in July 2013.
