New survey of the most popular supermarkets: Kaufland crashes, winner jumps from 11 to 1. Over 1,000 customers voted: A supermarket is the clear favorite of Germans.

However, none of the supermarkets can really score points when it comes to prices. Almost 58 percent of consumers in the survey stated that they were willing to pay more for high-quality regional products as a clear plus point. Quality, easy accessibility also plays a significant role when choosing a supermarket or discounter, the German Institute for Service Quality says.
