New survey shows most popular supermarkets in Germany: Kaufland crashes, winner jumps from 11 to 1. Over 1,000 customers voted: A supermarket is the clear favorite of Germans.

However, none of the supermarkets can really score points when it comes to prices. Despite the negative price aspect, many consumers prefer to go to the supermarket instead of the discounter. Almost 58 percent of consumers in the survey stated that they were willing to pay more for high-quality food. But even when evaluating the current survey, the generally popular Rewe and Edeka stores only received a “satisfactory” rating in the price category.
