Orlov, 70, said that while in detention he rejected the army's offer to be sent to Ukraine. Russia offers military contracts to detainees in exchange for early release if they survive the fighting. The NGO Memorial, for which Orlov worked, said: "This type of agreement (to go to Ukraine, ed.) is offered to all new prisoners"
