In just the last two months, 3 cases of measles were discovered in Israel. Symptoms of the disease include: fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes and a characteristic rash.
The measles vaccine is usually given as part of the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine. The vaccine is safe, effective and has been shown to greatly reduce the incidence of the virus in children and adults. It is of utmost importance for the entire population to receive these necessary vaccinations, in order to protect themselves and their communities.
